It’s time to start making summer plans.

Registration for the Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus Pine-Council (GSACPC) 2019 summer camps is now open for its four camp locations:

• Shadow Rim Ranch in Payson

•The Parsons Leadership Center for Girls and Women at Camp South Mountain in Phoenix

• Prescott’s Camp Maripai and Willow Springs.

Each camp has its own special offerings, along with traditional camp activities.

“Studies show that girls today are not spending nearly enough time outdoors. However, girls who attend Girl Scout Camp have plenty of opportunities to create their own outdoor adventures and develop a lifelong appreciation for nature and build self-confidence — whether with a Girl Scout troop, independently, or with friends and family,” said Tamara Woodbury, CEO for GSACPC. “Not only are our camps affordable, but we welcome all girls, K-12, regardless of whether they are currently a Girl Scout.”

At Shadow Rim Ranch in Payson, adventures offered include hiking and canoeing plus outdoor cooking, zip-lining and archery.

All four camps offer sessions that vary in length, from weekend family camp and day camp, to overnight camps and three-week-long quests.

Summer camp begins the week of June 2 and runs for nine weeks, with the last camp week starting in late July. Tiered pricing and financial assistance is available. Girls who are not Girl Scouts are welcome to register.

To sign up, please visit www.girlscoutsaz.org/camp.

There will be an open house at Shadow Rim Ranch May 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 530 N. Shadow Rim Road, Payson.
