Heroes of Education

Dan Utz and Brian Sitko were awarded Heroes of Education certificates for their help with science students.

They say it takes a village to raise kid.

Not to mention helpful heroes at the Town of Payson and the Northern Gila County Sanitary District.

So the Payson School Board recently recognized Dan Utz and Brian Sitko as Heroes of Education, for helping out a bunch of high school science students with their projects.

Utz works for the Payson Water Department, monitoring water quality.

Sitko is the laboratory director at the sanitary district.

Both lavished time on helping students with chemistry projects, as well as science fair projects — including the use of high-tech equipment.

“They enthusiastically gave a great deal of their time and expertise in the students’ learning of various aspects of data collection,” said the citation.
