A Winslow man survived a rollover accident on State Route 87 north of Strawberry Wednesday, Dec. 19.

The 47-year-old man was traveling southbound on Highway 87 in a Toyota passenger vehicle when he lost control at 10 p.m. and rolled off the roadway at milepost 282, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Paramedics transported the man to the hospital where he was treated and released.

The investigation is ongoing and impairment has not been ruled out, said a DPS spokesperson.

At midnight, the Arizona Department of Transportation sent out an email that the northbound lane had reopened.

Real-time highway conditions are available on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site az511.gov. When a freeway closure or other major traffic event occurs, ADOT’s free app, ADOT Alerts, sends information directly to app users in affected areas — where possible, in advance of alternate routes.
