The Windy Hill Campground on the Tonto Basin Ranger District has a new RV dump station available for campers who use a Tonto National Forest recreation sites.
The new dump station is along the way to Coyote Loop.
A Tonto Daily Pass, $8, and Tonto Discovery Pass, $80, provide access to picnic areas and shorelines within the Tonto National Forest. Tonto Daily Passes with a Watercraft Use Sticker, $4, and Tonto Discovery Passes provide access to the boat launches.
Campgrounds require the use of the designated fee machines.
The Tonto National Forest is approximately 2.8 million acres, and the number of areas that have fees associated with them is less than 1%. The other 99% of the Tonto National Forest is free to enjoy by the public.
The Tonto National Forest has approximately 215 developed recreation sites, with approximately 1.8 million visitors using these developed sites annually. The annual operating and maintenance cost to maintain these developed recreation sites is approximately $5.4 million.
