A woman escaped this rollover with minor injuries, officials say.

A 73-year-old woman driving home from work Tuesday escaped serious injury when her vehicle rolled east of Payson, officials say.

Around 3:10 p.m., multiple motorists called 911 reporting what looked like a multi-vehicle accident near The Rim Club entrance on State Route 260, said Police Chief Don Engler.

It was just a single vehicle rollover and the other drivers had stopped to offer assistance.

The driver of the tan vehicle was trapped inside, but firefighters were able to safely extricate her and she was taken to Banner Payson Medical Center with minor injuries.

A Payson Fire battalion chief said the driver was “very, very lucky” and had she not been wearing a seatbelt she could have been killed.

It appears the woman was heading westbound when she crossed the eastbound lanes, hit an embankment and the vehicle rolled.
