Payson Fire Department has been awarded a $30,755 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to enhance the safety of residents and visitors for FY 2019.
The grant allows the department to purchase new, state of the art, battery-powered extrication tools, including a spreader, cutter, and ram that are used simultaneously to expedite any extrication needs.
The updated tools will be an important component of improved highway safety and represent a significant investment in local emergency medical services.
These grant funds are part of an ongoing effort to make roads and highways safer.
Victims of motor collisions should have access to life-saving emergency medical service no matter where or when the collision occurs. To meet this challenge, GOHS provides funding for cost effective programs that incorporate effective strategies for improving Arizona’s emergency medical system abilities to meet the needs of collision victims.
