Five children attended the annual Dr. Seuss Birthday Party at the Isabelle Hunt Memorial Library (IHML) in Pine on Saturday, March 2.

The event is part of the annual Read Across America Day.

“We don’t have as many as Payson because we’re a small community, but I’m thrilled to death that we even had one child,” said IHML Director Becky Waer. “We offer a lot of programs up here and we cross our fingers.”

With the help of library assistant Peggy Eagan, the children made “Cat in the Hat” masks. They also received an activity book, a treat and listened as Eagan read them a story.

The first Saturday of every month the library offers a children’s activity.
