Gilberto Mendoza 1948-2018

Gilberto Mendoza, aged 69, went home to be with the Lord on November 9,2018. Born to Rosendo A. Mendoza and Juanita C. Mendoza on November 13, 1948 in Phoenix, Arizona. Survived by his four children, Gilberto E. Mendoza (Amanda); daughters, Esther M.

Mendoza, Naomi G. Mendoza Ealy (Antoine) and Mikayla J. Mendoza; six grandchildren, one great grandchild, two brothers, and three sisters. Preceded in death by his broth-er, Rosendo "Sonny" Mendoza. Gilberto was an avid outdoors-man who lived for the adventure. Fishing, hiking, rock collecting, traveling, hunting, and spending time with family were some of his favorite things to do. A God fearing man and prayer warrior who was actively involved with his church and who faithfully lived by Proverbs 3:5-6. He had a beautiful soul who willingly helped those in need. Gilberto proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. A retired Letter Carrier for the Glendale Downtown Post Office, and retired Teacher’s Assistant for the Payson Unified School District. He was the epitome of a great father and Tata. Gilberto adored his family and cared immensely for his parents. His infectious smile and contagious laughter will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Celebration of Life, will be Dec. 1, 2018 at the Payson High School Auditorium, 409 W Longhorn, Payson, AZ 85541, 11am-2 with Parking next to the baseball field on Longhorn.
