Ban texting while driving

Editor:

With regard to Michele Nelson’s article on texting, I say “Hoorah for Councilor Suzy Tubbs!” who supports banning texting while driving.

Two years ago, my husband and I suffered a terrible car accident in Alabama because a young woman who was texting knocked our car into the back of a truck which was stopped for road construction. I was flown to a hospital in Atlanta, Ga. One of my several doctors gave no encouragement of survival. I had three major surgeries in four days. My husband was also injured. Texting is the most dangerous driving distraction. It should be banned.
