Paysons open sprint relay won to lead Payson to a sixth-place finish among 10 scoring teams in the Fr. Oliver Freshman-Sophomore Invitational and Varsity Open at Phoenix Brophy Sports Complex on Thursday, March 29-Friday, March 29.

Tim McCarthy, Cole Tenney, Lance Beckner and Brock Davis won the 400 relay in 44.46 seconds.

Davis also finished second in the open 300 hurdles in 41.89 and Tenney finished third in a personal-record 42.32.

In the the freshman-sophomore meet, Trevor Cline won the long jump in a personal-record 19 feet 1 1/4 inches. He also finished third in the freshman-sophomore triple jump (38-4).

Hunter Lee took second in the freshman-sophomore javelin in a PR 102-0 and Rohan Smith took third (101-3 1/2).

Payson finished with 30.5 points. Desert Vista won with 200.5.
